Heading out!!

Well I can't believe I am saying this but in 4 hours we are heading out. We are spending the weekend in Ontario practicing in a secluded place but on Monday we will be heading out to Turkey. We just want to thank so much all the people and churches who have supported us financially, and in prayer. We have been overwhelmed by the power of prayer through this experience as well as just how much God sustains us and our every need. We feel such peace about the fact that God has brought in the amount of money he has. Thank you all so much for your sacrificial giving.
If I can ask one more prayer request before leaving:
1) Please pray for us and our families - peace in our hearts as we travel and are away for quite a while.
2) No distractions or complications to stress us out - just use your imagination.
3) The people of Turkey would be prepared.
4) Our love for one ourselves, one another, and God would shine through to show the love of Jesus Christ.

Have a very meaningful Easter weekend and thank you all so much. We hope our next update comes straight from Turkey!

Lots of love,
Pip

"Nothing can block his blessings outpoured"

As part of the Heritage Choir's performance, we begin by reciting a collection of various poems. In it, there is one line that says "Nothing can block His blessings outpoured." For some reason I have had that stuck in my head lately just repeating over and over again. When I really think about it, it makes me realize just what a blessing it is to be used by God. The fact that even my weakness, sinful nature, and just lack of worthiness can't stop the blessings of God to be poured out gives me so much peace. There is nothing I can do to stop God's spreading of the gospel. There is nothing I can do that can thwart his mission. So here's the question: Why not be on the good side? If every single knee will bow someday and confess Jesus is Lord, and if all things work together for the glory of God, and if nothing can stand in the way of God's mission on earth, why would I ever stand on the other side, prolonging the inevitable?

Gentle Shepherd Community Church

Last Saturday we had a great concert where we had people partnering with us and supporting us in such an ecouraging way and we thank you guys so much. We look forward to keeping everyone up to date on what is going on, and one last time - THANK YOU all so much for your support. It meant the world to us. Additionally, all who pledged and gave their support to us the following Sunday encouraged us even further. It is such a blessing to know we are not doing this alone.

We are so excited for this

Arts chapel tomorrow

Tomorrow we have our first live show with the good people of Heritage College. We have been practicing all night and have another practice tonight to prepare to lead everyone in some music. Thank you so much to the Arts chair of Heritage College - Michelle Vanderende. We look forward to the team building this will be.

The race continues...

With everything in me I want to give my best to this cause no matter what happens. Somehow I seem to be able to get my head around the fact that this entire job has a risk involved, and yet I find myself getting discouraged with the minimal tasks. I think that is the point where it has been so important for me to just remember that we are working for more than ourselves. I am so excited for this trip and equally excited to meet everyone on all of these fundraising nights and I so badly hope you are all so blessed. I know that we already have been blessed realizing how this job is truly important and requires time and effort. I think I have been realizing the proportion that my time is taken up and how that just so strongly reveals my priorities.

For the team please pray for continued unity, energy, and time available. We are all dealing with exams, projects, etc., and it is sometimes just hard to keep focus on the fact that we have so much to work for.

Please pray for myself that I would be able to fully enjoy this whole process and not get wrapped up on what needs to be done.

Please pray that the people of Turkey's hearts would be prepared for the conversations we are going to be having with them, and what it means in the long run.

Thanks for all the support!

What is a "Pip"?

Hey there everyone!
I'm Pip Lucas, and I am currently from Cambridge, Ontario Canada. Along with the other gentlemen on the team, I attend Heritage College, where I am pursuing a Bth. in Music. If you haven't heard about the trip already, we look very forward to meeting you and updating you on what is going on in Turkey. We are so excited to use music to connect to people and bridge the cultural barrier right off the bat. Last night we had our first prep meeting which was once again so exciting and helpful. We are also having our first band practice tonight so please be keeping us in mind!

I look so forward to updating everyone as we go along and getting to know you all as we team up together on this!

Hoscakal!

Pip
